    Social events in Madison?
I've finally played this game after much urging by friends, and it's a lot of fun. I don't have the space or money to buy it, but Madison must have places to play Rock Band, at bars or something? What places do you go to play socially in public?

Here's a review for you guys, gave a shout out to the community...

Rock Band 2 retains title as the Golden God of music games
Music and video games have been naturally complimentary since the latter became complex enough to emit more than a single beep. Rhythm games have allowed players to experience music by tapping out beats on controllers, using dance pads, or even shaking maracas. But there has been no game as successful at simulating the truly American art form of rock 'n' roll as Rock Band. >More

    Joy!

Blood Sugar Sex Magik is one of my favorite albums of all time and it debuts on Rock Band come Tuesday.

The prospect of singing BSSM and the ultra-censored versions of Power of Equality and Sir Psycho Sexy made me pee a little.

I do NOT look forward to some of these basslines, however. Flea is bonkers.

    Replacement drum pedals...
I'm not sure if this is kosher or not - so if not, let me know and I'll pull it.

After our drum pedal broke (yay cheap plastic!) I've started making replacement wood pedals. I'm now making them for sale - Craigslist link here: http://madison.craigslist.org/ele/755962770.html

I've been a follower of this group for some time. I'd like to give a little something back. To that end, I'm dropping the price by $5 for anyone in this community.

I'm not trying to out-compete the medal pedal people :) but I find that a hardwood pedal just feels better. I like them, and I'd like other people to have them too - and this subsidizes my Rock Band habit :)

    meh.

Next week's DLC is three songs by Jimmy Buffett and three by Disturbed. I am feeling a distinct and total lack of interest.

At least I still have songs from this week's Cars album to get.

    Oooh!
Pedro's East is starting Rock Band on Friday nights! Starts tonight at 9pm. They have been hosting GHIII for the last couple weeks and have decided to step it up. I will be there tonight, barring any last minute circumstances. Just thought I would toss it out there for all the RB Madisonians! :D

Best Buy Clearance Guitar Hero II

if you don't have one of these bad boys or just want an extra guitar, head to either Best Buy in Madison. they're ringing up $31.99. Yes thats the game AND the guitar! I confirmed with Gamestop they'll take just the disk game on trade for $12, so you could get an extra guitar for $20 plus tax, which aint bad considering the x-plorer still sells for $50-60 brand new without the game.

Don't bother with dreams of trading up for profit, because game + guitar comes up to $29 at Gamestop even with a promo on GTA IV, and theres a ton of these on ebay right now, likely from other best buy clearances across the country. that chain ordered hard on GHII when they had RB and GHIII shortages.

Don't have many of these left, so exercise your tax refund now.

    WYOU Rock Band write up

Stars are born with Virtual Rock Band on WYOU

Big ups to the community on this one. Spread this article around to friends and stuff. The Daily Page believes in me, but Isthmus still isn't printing this kind of coverage, and the only way we can force the hand is with lots of readers. Isthmus covers 2 things well: Arts and Politics. Games frequently inadvertently involve both.
